Yellowstone season 6 Everything we know: A recent report says that Season 6 is undoubtedly on the table – possibly in the expansion of The Madison.
Forget everything you knew about Yellowstone’s future. Rumors about spinoffs, a Matthew McConaughey-led spin-off, and Kevin Costner’s exit after Season 5 have been circulating for a long time? Now it’s all over. Agreeing with an unverified report from Puck’s Matthew Belloni, Vital is currently considering Yellowstone Season 6.
Variety confirmed the story, which includes recent data that fan favorites Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) and Cole Hauser (Tyler Wheeler) are currently in talks to return. However, Vital has not commented on the rumors. Last week, the arrangement announced a continuation arrangement called The Madison featuring Michelle Pfeiffer and Lost’s Matthew Fox. That news had already sparked a heap of speculation about Yellowstone’s future. Now? Anything is possible. Maybe Kevin Costner could return.

Will there be a Season 6 of Yellowstone?
Yellowstone season 6: Apparently, yes! Vital already reported that Season 6 was rejected in favor of a continuation arrangement that would have reportedly cast Matthew McConaughey in the lead role. For some reason, McConaughey never officially signed on to the venture and/or Vital moved on to another course.
The organization is currently looking at bringing back select Yellowstone cast members (not to mention Kevin Costner) for another season. Season 6 will likely run in conjunction with the modern spinoff arrangement, The Madisons, starring Pfeiffer and Fox. The spinoff’s story will be similar to Yellowstone but will involve a fully-fledged family called the Clyburns. Arrangement creator Taylor Sheridan is also reportedly working on another prequel spinoff set in 1944.
What about Kevin Costner’s return? | Yellowstone season 6
Of course, Yellowstone moving beyond Season 5B – which is set to begin this November – greatly complicates Sheridan’s elaborate dispute with Costner. The series was initially set to end without its main father and wrap up the Dutton adventure later this year. Now the actor’s behind-the-scenes feud with Sheridan over shooting plans and contracts is more puzzling than ever.
Although the cast member has expressed that he will not appear in the final scenes of Yellowstone, the Season 5B scenes are likely no longer the series finale. Worse still, part of Costner’s contract dispute revolved around the actor’s claim that he was supposed to be paid for a potential Season 6 and Season 7 of Yellowstone, which the showrunners disputed when they decided to end the series after Season 5B. That is no longer the case.
Earlier this year, Puck also reported that Costner’s team was actually “still asking that Sheridan bring him back to complete his circular segment.” Despite the fact that Costner won’t appear in Season 5B, moving the series into Season 6 would give Vital more time to work out a modern deal with the on-screen character. At that point the series could either end his character’s story on-screen or actually keep him involved in the show. We fairly expect Vital to officially explain WTF is going on!
OK, so where does the story go from here?
Yellowstone season 6: When we last saw the Dutton family, everyone was plotting to murder each other. In the midseason finale, Jamie (Wes Bentley) thinks about impeaching his father so he can win back his position as senator and finally get his conviction overturned. But when John (Costner) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) escalate the conflict themselves, it gets brutal a few moments after Jamie actually has a chance to make the first move.
Beth sneaks into Jamie’s house and lands a blow to her brother’s head – as if to weaken him enough that she can finish the job whenever she wants. At that point Jamie thinks about killing himself. When Yellowstone finally comes back, the conflict is likely to get even more brutal for some of our estranged leads.
Basically, the Season 5B plot is the ultimate way to kill off any character whose on-screen character hasn’t signed an unexpired contract to move forward with Yellowstone. Specifically, Costner. Also, Bentley hasn’t been specified in the rumors of returning. We’ve seen reports about Reilly, Houser, and Luke Grimes (Kayce) so far, meaning all three of their characters will survive the events of Season 5B.
It’s still unclear how Yellowstone will handle John Dutton’s death, but it’s possible that the head of the Dutton family will die off-screen, since he won’t return in the final scenes. It might not feel right to Yellowstone fans, but a quick, inconspicuous death could be the most straightforward way to move the arrangement forward. Yellowstone season 6
