Virgin River season 6: Here’s everything you should watch: Alert the phone tree – Virgin River Season 6 is welcoming two very important new residents. Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr will join the series in flashback scenes as Sarah and Everett, aka Mel’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) parents when they meet and fall in love in the 1970s.

Series creator Patrick Sean Smith has given us a hint as to what’s coming next for Mel, Jack (Martin Henderson) and the rest of the small town crew.

What’s Coming Up in Virgin River Season 6?
If Smith can promise one thing, it’s that “babies and wedding bells are never impossible in Virgin River.”
“Mel and Jack will continue on their journey to becoming parents while transforming Lily’s farm into their dream home,” he told Tudum. As fans who watched the Season 5 finale know, Mel and Jack decided to buy the property.
Season 6 takes place a few months after Season 5’s Christmas-themed episode. Smith says it will be “even more springy” as they revisit their favorite town. Spring is considered a time of growth and change, so there are plenty of surprises in store for our favorite characters.
Writer and producer Richard Keith Tudum said of the 2022 series: “It may not be the happy ending they were hoping for, but they do get to a happy place, which in some ways may be happier than the place they thought they were going to in the first place.”
Who is in the cast of Virgin River Season 6?
Virgin River season 6: Roth (Happy Death Day) joins the cast as Sarah, the younger version of Mel’s mother. In flashbacks, which are mostly set around 1972, Sarah is a resourceful urban free spirit with a fierce passion for activism who wants to escape the conservative, traditional life of a young woman in the ’70s. Always up for adventure, she can’t stop herself from pursuing a charming musician who could be her ill-fated life partner.
That potential life partner is Everett, played by Callum Carr (One Piece). While present-day Everett is played by John Allen Nelson, Carr plays a younger version of him from his ’70s days. Everett is a handsome, free-spirited singer-songwriter who has the soul of a poet. One day he will realize his dream of being on stage, but for now he’s living life drifting around in his Volkswagen bus until his meeting with a beautiful hitchhiker may teach him that there’s more to life than he thought.
Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season, Season 6 features new developments, a growing love triangle, fun wedding drama and undiscovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past, taking us back into the magic and mystery of ’70s Virgin River.
Breckenridge and Henderson will continue to lead the cozy drama. The film also stars Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Marc Ghanim, Kai Bradbury and Candice McClure. Smith says we can expect “new directions” for favorite characters like Preacher (Lawrence), Brady (Hollingsworth) and Kaia (McClure).
“Brady will volunteer at the Virgin River Fire Department under Fire Chief Kaia, who will be involved in Preacher’s past crimes,” Smith says. “This season will also surprise us with the return of some past favorites.” But there will also be at least one new face in town. “The biggest new mysterious character this season is Everett Reid, Mel’s biological father, who has an old secret,” he says. Everett is played by John Allen Nelson.
Where was Virgin River filmed?
As star Breckenridge says in the video below, Virgin River is actually a real place… “deep in our hearts.” But the series was actually filmed in beautiful Vancouver, Canada.
Showrunner Smith is excited to bring the cast and crew together again in the West Coast city. “The last time we saw everyone was at the end of 2022, so it’s surreal to be able to get together again,” he says.
